Passion for Pink Paris

It's Saturday, so time for a pink creation for Pink Saturday. Decided to visit Paris again, one of my favorite themes. If you know me you know my other favorite theme is the sea.... maybe someday I can create an underwater Paris scene. How about the Eiffel Tower with strands of sea kelp? LOL.

I haven't been doing many challenges lately, so I'm entering this at Sir Stampalot July "Anything Goes" challenge and Simon Says Stamp Challenge  weekly challenge "Stitch In Time". I also used the technique of Distress Ink and Perfect Pearls for  the lovely Linda's Studio L3 Grungy Monday #14 challenge. This challenge is based on the amazing Tim Holtz's March 2008 technique.It was fun to try something new, sorry that you really can't see the shimmer of the wonderful Perfect Pearls in my project.

For this dainty tag, I started with Tim Holtz technique and which included  stamping the word "Paris" with acrylic paint. The stamp is from Cavallini. I layered  vintage images from Artchix Studio and over stamped the Eiffel tower in black also from Cavallini. There is a stamped parasol and fan  cut out for dimension from my friend Lynne. Some hand stitching drawn in, some shiny pearls and sparkling pink german scrap all added details. I highlighted with watercolors. Added some beautiful  pink fiber trim from a dear friend Donna with tiny golden leaves. The finishing touch was the sentiment..."Passion for pink, a brilliant idea."

Hope you find your passion this week.
sincerely, gerri

  8. My mouth is watering at your delicate pinks. A sense of decadence about them, possibly due to the women. Fabulous details and glad you were able to use those images. You know to give me a shout if you ever see stamps that catch your eye :)

  11. O la-la!!!! These are tres magnifique!!!! Love the colorway. Too bad perfect pearls won't scan or photograph well, but your work is vibrantly marvelous as always.
Thanks for sharing the process! Watercolors are a fave creative touch of mine, although I've never tried using them the way you have this time.
    Always a pleasure!

  14. Gerri, I love how you bring Paris to us! Your pretty-in-pink tag is the definition of "elegance." You did such a great job on the resist technique for GM14, and, as you always do, designed something truly striking and beautiful.

Actually, if anyone could take a kelp-covered Eiffel Tower and make it look cool, it would be you!!! :-)
