April Rain Drops

Its been a rainy couple of days here in the low country, which was the inspiration for this  card using images from Gecko Galz. I just had to add the happy  bright flowers to cheer me up a bit during this April rain.

To make  this card I used the "April Showers" collage sheet and choose the umbrella image and put it on blue patterned paper. I layered a clear transparency frame and applied rain drop stickers and Stickle accents. On the corners are  rhinestones and bright paper flowers with flower rhinestone centers. All this was put on yellow card stock. My favorite supply: Stickles accents were added for shine.

Hope you will have a week of sunshine and bright happy flowers,
artfully yours Gerri

Thoughts of love when true, never tarnish

For Gecko Galz's this month, here is a sweet card just in time for Mother's Day. The color of the image really popped and everything else just feel into place!

To make this piece I started with the image from the Sweet Mommy collage sheet and put them on an orange floral patterned background then on to a blue card base. A swirly transparent frame was layered on top. Orange fiber was used to accent the top and bottom. Stickles and Rhinestone flowers accent the corners. The sentiment reads "Remember, thoughts of love when true never tarnish."

Hope you will be surrounded be thoughts of love this week.
Artfully yours,
Gerri

Circus Adventure

Here is a card I made recently for Retro Cafe Art, I never went to a circus as a child, but I did take our daughter when she was little. We would go to New York City to Madison Square Garden to see Barnum and Bailey with their three ring circus. It was always so much fun, with all the sights, the smells and  the  crowds excitement. I am dedicating this card to that long ago experience.

To make this, I used the tent Collage image  and Circus sign  that were  painted and put  on the scribbly background that I stamped a ferris wheel. The Tent shape was covered with bright paper and the strong man added to the door. The  circus flag banners were glittered and the word adventure applied  then the circus folks were layered. Accents include Stickles dots and pearls on the corners.

Hope your life is as exciting as a circus this week.
Take care, Gerri

I enjoyed my own nature

It's Spring here in the low country, the azaleas and trees are  all blooming. It also means yellow pollen ever where.  It covers the cars, walks and roofs. We can actually leave foot prints when we walk across our porch. LOL.

Today's project was for  Gecko Galz :To make this card I started with the  Cross Promotion Event by using JL Nature background and watercolored the edges. I layered a green patterned paper with the Gecko Galz garden gal image. The  garden embellishments include multi colored paper flowers and punched green leaves. Butterfly appliqués, fabric tiny flowers and a tag that reads "I enjoyed my own NATURE to the fullest" were also added. The finishing touches were Stickles and some glitter nail polish for some shine.

Hope you will enjoy your own nature this week.
Regards,
Gerri

Art Princess Exploding ATC

I love making ATC's they be small but powerful! To be able to cram so much on a piece the size of a playing card can be difficult, that's why I make exploding ATCs. An exploding ATC is one that spills over the edges. Like in life, I like to cram inalot of experience and sometimes they spill over the edges. LOL.

Today  I am showing two ATC's the Kristin had put on her blog and Facebook for Retro Cafe Art.To make these beauties I started with a black playing card and layered the
Stage collage sheet by Cassandra Van Curen
Domino collage sheet by Cassandra Van Curen
They were topped with Stickled  RCA Hearts , Rhinestones and the corners are pleated sequins. The sentiment are little cut out  RCA paper cuts words that say Art Princess and Bloom Dreamer

Hope you will feel like an Art Princess this week.
Take care,
Gerri
