She Paints Sea Shells at the Sea Shore

Well, today is my first submission to the Friday Painting Party site. I've been taking watercolor lessons for a little over a year. This is the first time I am showing my work, to anyone outside class or my family. I've come along way and am now confident enough (well almost) to share them with the world. The subject is sea shells. I have collected them ever  since I was a little girl so, I thought they would make a nice composition. I painted them a number of times so you will see them again...and again. My painting is below but I've also included a pictures of a part of our master bathroom where a portion of my collection is kept. They are in a big basket, so I can enjoy them everyday.
Enjoy the sounds of the sea no matter how close or far you live,
Always, gerri

  14. Fantastic painting, Gerri. Congrats. on submitting for the first time .. and for sharing new work with us. I for one am honoured. It takes courage. Your collection looks exquisite. I had a very extensive collection from travels all over the world. It was difficult to leave it behind to move to Mexico. I think my favorite shell of all is the conch. You interpreted it beautifully.

  20. Welcome to PPF- I'm so glad you're here! Your seashells are beautiful- if they were mine, I'd have it framed and hand it in the bathroom too so you can enjoy your beautiful accomplishment as well as the sense of ocean that you've brought home.
In your painting, I really love the way you used the blue the enhance the soft colors of the shells- like I said; BEAUTIFUL!
Happy PPF (a day late :))
