Wish Babies and Tots

The month of August at Gingersnaps Creations is all about  the "Joys of Childhood" and this week's theme is "Babes and Tots". Please come visit to see the  Design Team's creations or to come play with us and show your art. For my DT piece, I am showing a card I made for a dear friend's 4 year old daughter. I love sending her cards because her mom tells me she carries them around for days keeping them close at hand, maybe she'll grow up to be a papercrafter too. I believe you can never start too young. lol.

Since this piece is orange, thought Id tell you about a fun Halloween contest over at Alpha Stamps. You can click HERE to read about it. There is even a free gift of a Halloween Romance Collage Sheet!

Well back to my piece... I started with a baby onesie template that I cut out of patterned paper and added the pressed orange daisy flowers. That was layered on three different backgrounds from lt blue crackle stamped with daisies, solid lime to a misted orange paper. I used a fabric flower as a stencil to create the wings. I stamped and colored some butterflies for dimension. Added the twig with string, pressed leaves, lt blue organza ribbon and Stickles for glimmer. The final touch was the stamped sentiment "Wish"

Hope you wishes will come true this week.
take care, gerri

This is too cute and the choice of papers brings such a sense of summer days to it when many childhood memories are formed.
