Yes, it's not my usual girlie style, but I did include some glitter and glass beads for sparkle. I started with the cute retro owl pin image from Retro Cafe Art, from their collage sheet called Vintage Jewelry 1. I used the interior of their ATC Fancy Frame Style 4 as my base and painted it with layers of blues and silver acrylic paint. I used the RCA Large Optical stencil with blue paint on top to create the star burst pattern. The owl image went on next. Added some silver paint on the edges and some Ranger Stickles glitter and punched a hole. I put it the piece on a old beaded necklace I had and put it on Mary Lou to show you!
Hope you will try something completely different this week.
take care, gerri

ReplyDeletePS: Had no idea you were a Monty Python fan .. I too am hooked. When I lived in London, saw them many times and then John Cleese played in the West End on a regular basis. Did you see their 40th anniversary documentary series about a year ago? FABULOUS. BUt I digress ... love the piece, it's very fun .. these ATC frames are interesting. xxDonna

ReplyDeleteHoly cow, this is so cool and creative!!! At first I thought the owl was an actual piece of jewelry as it looks so 3-D! I thought - hey, I had an owl like that. LOL. And NICE work with the stencil too!! Love it!! xo
ReplyDeleteHi Gerri! After doing so much galavanting around the various states, I'm finally getting settled back at home with my hubby. I'm going to need to take some more time exploring your blog...so many lovlies on here. Wow. I love this necklace--colors I really like, and some great model you've got there. hee hee. ReplyDeleteGrew up with Monty Python ... then had four boys who lived the skits for a few years ... we never sat down to dinner without one skit or other coming up! They knew them all, word for word ... often have the Four Yorkshire Men, or the SPAM song, or I'm a Lumberjack ... running around my head! LOL Happy days!
