The very Pulse of the Machine

Steampunk is a favorite theme of mine and I especially like to make it my own and I call it "Girlie Steampunk". Who says gears, sprockets and machinery can't be feminine and romantic! This two sided project today was for Retro Cafe Art, I'm also going to show you where it hangs. It is in my studio on a vintage "stairway to the moon shelf" with all my other Retro Cafe Art  beautiful swaps from other talented artist friends.

To make this heart  I started with the Masonite Steampunk Heart  and painted one side black and one side silver. It was layered with Steampunk Gears painted copper, gold, silver that are all metallic colors. The center is a Faux watch movement  part piece and the other side is a female image under a dome. Lots of shiny Stickles, painted dots and copper stickers complete this piece. The sentiment is on the black sheer ribbon  on a layered banner cutout and says "And now I see the very pulse of the machine".

Only You Now and Forever

Hello my friends. Life's been crazy busy around here, between work and my daughter's recent visit. We had a wonderful time together  laughing, shopping, going out to eat and just enjoying each others company. Now that she is gone, I am getting back into the spirit of things!

Here's a simple pretty for Gecko Galz it is a beautiful romantic image of a dancing couple. I layered it on pink and baby blue shiny paper to match their outfits. There is tulle, pearls, Stickles (of course), pink shiny flowers and a sparkly feather butterfly. The hand cut sentiment reads "Only You, Now and Forever"

The Heart Has It's Reasons

                             Gecko Galz  has teamed up with Arora Wings Stamps to show 

everyone how well the their products work with Gecko Galz 

Products! The design team has combined the Some amazing 

digital stamps from Arora Wings Digital stamps and 

Gecko Galz products to create amazing projects. 

This is my card below using the digital image and coloring it . 

I layered the Arora image under a Gecko Galz frame transparency and used

a Gecko Galz collage image in the back ground. There are all 

kinds of sparkly paper trims, and tiny orange metal flowers too. The sentiment

reads "The heart has it's reasons, that reason knows nothing

of" by Pascal. It's so true don't you think?

Sweet Heart Valentine

Today for Gecko Galz  Design Team is a sparkly tag. I wonder what lucky person will get it for Valentine's Day? I have been in a Valentine's mood, so you will be seeing lots of hearts, but not all necessarily red! I have a project of black and silver that I will share with you this weekend.

To make this tag, I printed up the striped tag, cut it out and then layered it with the cute hearted cat image. It looks so retro, don't you think? Lots of red sparkly fiber along the edge and red and light blue Stickle accents too. The cut out sentiment says "Sweet Heart".

Be my valentine pretty blue birds

So sorry my dear friends, that I haven't been around since the new year. I am back to creating after all the hub bub of the holidays. The card today is for my January gecko galz design team. I do so love the retro tattoo theme. No tattoos for me, lol, but I do so like the images.

The gecko galz image was layered on red and plaid glitter paper. I added the True Love appliqué and the birdie banner, to make the banner I stamped and then fussy cut the blue bird images. They were painted and glittered with Stickles. They were put on gold ribbon and the words, be my valentine. Some additional glitter accents on the images were the final touches .
