Little Boy and Little Girl of Easter

For Gecko Galz today, I have been working on some Easter cards with images of children. Easter is one of our favorite family holidays.  There is lots of food, church and of course chocolate bunnies and jelly beans.  We have many fond memories of fuzzy stuffed bunny toys and hiding Easter eggs for the children to find.

To make the card  with the " Little Boy "I started with the little boy  image from the Easter Children Sheet and layered it on a cross stitched patterned paper, then green, pink and finally I put that on a spring green plaid card. The embellishments include tiny green buttons, little flowers, glitter studs and green rhinestones. A  faux stitch rub on and Stickles were the final accents.

To make the card with the "Little Girl" I started with the little girl  image from the Easter Children Sheet and layered it on orange plaid paper then a blue glitter egg cut out and orange paper lace. This was glued to multi colored  patterned paper and put on a green card. The embellishments  include an orange little flower, glitter studs and orange  rhinestones. The Happy Easter sentiment and Stickles were the final accents.

Hope you will have some child like fun this week.
Take care my friends,
Gerri

Lucky St Patricks Day

It's  St Patricks  Day Time here  in the Savannah Area  and its a big holiday. Savannah  will have 300,000 visitors and the parade tomorrow will feature 350 floats, Irish pipe bands, celebrities and military units. You can drink green beer and sample shrimp and  green grits. It's the second largest St Patricks day  parade in the United States and has been happening since 1813, over 200 years. So join me in celebrating and take a peek at two St Patricks Day..... a card using Gecko Galz collage images and a "Luck" bracelet using Retro Cafe Art supplies.

Hope the Luck of the Irish is with you this week.
Take care,
Gerri

The very Pulse of the Machine

Steampunk is a favorite theme of mine and I especially like to make it my own and I call it "Girlie Steampunk". Who says gears, sprockets and machinery can't be feminine and romantic! This two sided project today was for Retro Cafe Art, I'm also going to show you where it hangs. It is in my studio on a vintage "stairway to the moon shelf" with all my other Retro Cafe Art  beautiful swaps from other talented artist friends.

To make this heart  I started with the Masonite Steampunk Heart  and painted one side black and one side silver. It was layered with Steampunk Gears painted copper, gold, silver that are all metallic colors. The center is a Faux watch movement  part piece and the other side is a female image under a dome. Lots of shiny Stickles, painted dots and copper stickers complete this piece. The sentiment is on the black sheer ribbon  on a layered banner cutout and says "And now I see the very pulse of the machine".

Hope you will seed the pulse of all the world's machinery this week.
Artfully yours,
Gerri

Only You Now and Forever

Hello my friends. Life's been crazy busy around here, between work and my daughter's recent visit. We had a wonderful time together  laughing, shopping, going out to eat and just enjoying each others company. Now that she is gone, I am getting back into the spirit of things!

Here's a simple pretty for Gecko Galz it is a beautiful romantic image of a dancing couple. I layered it on pink and baby blue shiny paper to match their outfits. There is tulle, pearls, Stickles (of course), pink shiny flowers and a sparkly feather butterfly. The hand cut sentiment reads "Only You, Now and Forever"

Hope you will a week filled with a special someone this week.
Take care,
Gerri
