Christmas Eve extravaganza

Well it's Christmas Eve and all the preparations are done for this wonderful holiday. I want to wish all of you a  very Happy Christmas Eve. I thought I'd share numerous Christmas  projects including cards and ornaments using Retro Cafe Art supplies. I am also sharing a few photos from Christmas celebrations here in the low country. One is the Bluffton, SC Christmas local parade with trucks, trailers, floats, pirates, tractors and all kinds of fun. The second is the Beaufort SC Christmas  night boat parade. It was so beautiful  to be on the harbor at night with all the boats covered in bright colorful lights with music playing and sipping hot chocolate.

Hope you are having a delightful holiday season .
Take care,
Gerri

Steampunk Santa

So here's something a bit different, it's a Steampunk ornament for Retro Cafe Art. It's hanging in my studio. I had fun this year making all different kind of ornaments  but  I call this girlie steam punk. I love the theme but, do have to Sparkle it up abit!

So I started with a glass ornament  that you were supposed to put a photo in. I chose to put in a retro Santa face  from the Oh Santa Collage Sheet with the Ho Ho Ho  collage words paper cuts words. Of course it was glittered up with Stickles. I should buy stock in Ranger Industries! Ha Ha.... Under the Santa are all store of metal gears and tags. It also has mini glitter red jingle bells and a RCA propeller. The Believe tag was the final pies. Some burgundy ribbon and he was also set to fly!

Hope you will fly around this week and get all you need done!
Artfully yours,
Gerri

Joyful Green Snow

Here's an ornament I made for Retro Cafe Art, it hangs proudly on our tree. We have a nice medium sized tree this year. It is decorated in  only gold, silver and white. Its very sparkly!  I've sent out all my cards and now I can take a rest. This year there were over 50 individually decorated unique cards were sent.

So, to make this ornament I started with the Snowflake  ornament and painted it cream and then green. I added the Christmas Word Joyful cutout covered with gold Stickles. The collage image is from Retro Cafe art called Let it Snow. The Mini glitter jingle gold bells were hung green thread. The whole piece was outlined in green Stickles.

Here's wishing you a joyful week.
Take care,
Gerri

Black and White and Christmas all over

For the Gecko Galz 's  Design team this month, here are two  different projects both from the Black and White beauties collage sheet. I just couldn't leave them black and white so, I painted and glittered them up for Christmas. Today I am sharing a greeting card and also a little shrine necklace.

The card started with the lovely image that I embellished. It was layered on pattern paper and edged with German scrap. I added the glittered holly, "25" and the word beautiful.

The shrine necklace uses several Retro Cafe Art supplies including the shrine, doves, snowflake and pretty metal rose. All were painted and layered. The Black and White beauty is inside the shrine.

Hope you have a glittery week.
Take care, Gerri

Now that Thanksgiving is over, my big push is Christmas. I make Christmas cards, Christmas ATCs and even Christmas ornaments to send to family and friends. I've been doing it for so many years that now I can not send a purchased card to anyone! LOL

So here's a Retro Cafe Art ATC that I've created. I just adore their  paper cuts especially these Santa dollie heads. I added their white pom pom and glitter on the fur hats There's also Red stars covered with glitter and all sorts of sparkle trim.

Flying Frida Shrine

Today's project is a shrine  dedicated to Frida Kahlo, the Mexican painter that I made for a shrine swap for Retro Cafe Art.  I do do love creating swap items so that my little treasures can be shared with others. Also it's so much fun to wait to see what amazing art I receive in return. RCA is always having fun swaps, right now I am working on their angel ornament swap. Come join the fun.

This  RCA shrine is decorated with metal roses, a flying heart, Stickles glitter, German  Dresden edging  and gold foil. In side is a Frida bead that was just the perfect size. The back of the shrine is covered in black lace.

Hope you will enjoy a good swap this week.
Take care, Gerri

A Halloween Extravaganza

Happy Halloween my friends! It's my favorite holiday cause you know it's when I met my husband, at a Halloween costume party in NYC, oh back in the day. Of course, there is a Halloween decorated side board in our entry way to celebrate every year and I am sharing  it with you too.

I decided to show three  projects all using Retro Cafe Art supplies today. Kristin has been so kind to post several of them on her RCA Facebook page too. Today there's an spider web ATC with swinging spider, creepy bee woman with real(only kidding) spider webs. A  paper skellie shrine with cutout bats and a spider charm looking all scary in a  tiny tartlet pan . Finally,  my favorite modeled by Mary Lou is a  Halloween feather pin complete with green jewel, skull beads, metal roses, lots of black lace  and a cutout flourish swirl.

Hope you enjoyed my  sweet and scary selection today.
Happy Halloween,
Gerri

Sweet Recycled Halloween tags

If you are like me , you collect little bits of paper, buttons and shiny tidbits. I particularly can't throw away garment tags. Since I was in the fashion clothing business, I know how much time and work goes into them. But as a paper artist it's where I am able to give them their second life!

For Retro Cafe Art , I took three tags and painted them with acrylic paint, them stamped them and added orange roses. The cRetro Cafe Art cutouts are a bat, masks,  mini frame, web and  a spider. Of course there is black glitter and black lace too. I let the tag cords just as I found them!

Hope you will recycle something wonderful this week.
artfully yours, gerri
