Time is flowing backwards

For Retro cafe art here  is one of my all time favorites pieces,(at least for this month!), I call it an exploded ATC. The title is "Don't you wish time could flow backwards".... sometimes I do, especially when I see my beautiful baby girl all grown up and off to conquer the world! I remember when I got my first job and then apartment in NYC, it was a very thrilling time.

Well ,to  make this I started with the inside of a Fancy Frame shaped ATC center and covered it in foil. I over stamped it with my favorite script stamp. It was layered with a transparent clock image  from the Steampunk Collage sheet and then a moth cut out with the haunting face image from the RCA collage sheet Screen Sirens. This was put on the collage sheet image and then clear gold border stickers were attached. The back fan is actually an image of a  typewriter inside from the RCA Steampunk collage sheet that I added german scrap to. Some rhinestones, Stickles and the hand cut sentiment which reads Time is flowing backwards.

Very Little is Need for a Happy Life

Sorry, I haven't been around much my dear friends. Our daughter was visiting and we spent 12 days laughing, eating, drinking and having a great time. We even went to visit  St Simons Island and checked out the beaches and tiny shops. We stayed in a historic 1930 hotel, where our room was named for a famous St Simon resident called William Hazzard. This is funny because coincidentally our street is named after him too!

I am showing a sweet tag  I made awhile ago. It's background was stamped and then watercolored. The image was watercolored too. Some black glitter fleur d'isle an organza rose, some black tulle and Dresden scrap were the accents. The hand cut sentiment reads "Very little is needed to make a happy life."

Sweet Fairies song

Today for Retro Cafe Art I've created a sweet ATC. I love the ATC size it's big enough to add a lot of detail but not too big to take too much  time to make. Now that I work full time, I don't always have to time to create, so these are just right for me. I really like the color combination of pink and gold for this one too!

To make this I started by layering gold and then pink marbleized paper. Under the RCA 3 Pane Rounded ATC frame I glued the Debrina Pratt dancer images . I added their wings with gold paint! There is a Stickled crown cut out in the top window. Gold Stickle dots, water color paint and tiny pink and red rhinestones trim the entire piece. The RCA cut words  were used to make the sentiment which says " Sweet Fairies Song".

Bright Orange Life Saver

Here's another Sea themed card from Gecko Galz using the delightful Sea Shore Cuties July Collage sheet. The sea is always an easy theme for me to work with, did you know when I was young I wanted to be an oceanographer like Jacques Cousteau.... somehow I ended up in the garment industry. Imagine that!

To make this card I started with some polka dot paper and punched the edges. I added some red star ribbon on the top and the bottom with some yellow plastic stars. The image of the bathing beauty is from the Sea Shore  cuties collage sheet. I added the 3d life preserver for dimension and layered her on some blue cellophane to represent water. The water colored  painted sentiment says "bright".

Sea Shore Cuties

I love living here at the shore, whether its the bright green marsh grasses or the deep blue see, South Carolina low country is truly an inspiring place to live and create. Today for Gecko Galz using the July Ephemera Collage Sheet called Sea Shore Cuties Collection cuties I made this mixed media tag. Of course I enjoy the challenge of repurposing things , so I used a Red Gap tag as the base for this piece!

To make this tag I started with a muslim and red garment tag as the base. I attached the women in swimsuits image from the sea shore cuties sheet. I added embellishments of shells, drink umbrella, paper shells, netting, star fish confetti, pearls and the hand cut dictionary sentiment "friends". Some Stickle accents add the sparkle and shine of the sea.

Bingo you just can't stop

Well, its another Gecko Galz art project for everyone today using something from my childhood.It's all about mushrooms. I love the look of  mushrooms and as a child would go on walks with my mother and brother to hunt for them. Not to eat them, but to look and take photos of them. I even had a scrap book of mushroom pictures. I guess I started my paper art addition early in life.

For this card I used a Gecko Galz image image and several 3D items like the flower, ladybug and tiny Retro Cafe Art mushrooms. Some fiber, watercolor paint and red Stickles add addional color. The sentiment says"Bingo, you just can't stop"
