Flying Frida Shrine

Today's project is a shrine  dedicated to Frida Kahlo, the Mexican painter that I made for a shrine swap for Retro Cafe Art.  I do do love creating swap items so that my little treasures can be shared with others. Also it's so much fun to wait to see what amazing art I receive in return. RCA is always having fun swaps, right now I am working on their angel ornament swap. Come join the fun.

This  RCA shrine is decorated with metal roses, a flying heart, Stickles glitter, German  Dresden edging  and gold foil. In side is a Frida bead that was just the perfect size. The back of the shrine is covered in black lace.

Hope you will enjoy a good swap this week.
Take care, Gerri

Crystal Drop Snow Queen

Today I am being featured on Gecko Galz 's month of ornaments. If you check out their site, they are featuring an ornament a day from the talented Design Team all using Gecko Galz  incredible images. My  shiny ornament uses the "Snow Queen"  image glued on the back of  a chandelier crystal drop. You know how much I adore chandeliers.....Then the crystal was layered on all sorts of snow flakes, I happen to have in my stash. There are plastic, foam and even felt but of course, there's lots of silver glitter ones too.  By the way Gecko Galz, is also  having a great giveaway this month, you can read all about it under my ornament below.

Hope you will see something shiny and glittery this week.
Take care, Gerri

Day of the Dead Shrine

Today is Day of the Dead in Mexico and All Saints day here. I guess its all about our  love ones  who have passed on and how we should honor them. What better way to do this  if you are an artist to create something colorful and fun! So today, I have a Day of the Dead Shrine using Retro Cafe Art supplies. They are having a Day of the Dead swap too. You  have until November 11th and you can check it out here.

The mini shrine was filled with a  DOTD skull that I painted and added metal rose eyes. The DOTD Star shrine box was painted, stamped, Stickled and trimmed with German Dresden scrap. I added the top piece using a gold foil fan, more metal roses and a skeleton bead.

Hope you will celebrate this day in your own special way.
take care, Gerri
